Feed Healthcare Heroes in Indianapolis, IN
In the fight against COVID-19, frontline workers experienced high demand and high stress. They worked long hours and double shifts. They faced life and death every day. They were right on the frontline of the pandemic, working tirelessly to save lives while putting themselves in danger. A simple, hot meal was what we could offer as a warm encouragement to help them keep going after another long and tiring shift.
In May 2020, we partnered with another nonprofit, Children’s Eyes on the Globe (CEG), and a local restaurant to provide hot meals to frontline healthcare professionals. Together, we provided 1,718 individually packaged hot meals for doctors and nurses at four hospitals in Marion County—the county with most deaths and most confirmed cases in Indiana. In collaboration with CEG, we also provided masks and other personal protective equipment to healthcare professionals and first responders at hospitals and clinics, senior living communities, and local police and fire departments in Indiana.
A deep appreciation also goes to our amazing volunteers, who delivered the meals every day for three weeks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you all for joining us to thank these heroes for serving on the frontlines of this pandemic and protecting our communities!
